The MSM's love affair with John McCain is so very reminiscent of the 2000 election (see Travels with George/HBO), it's like PTSD flashbacks. I have a modicum of respect for McCain, but most of it was lost when he tried to make amends with Jerry Falwell, a k a "agent of intolerance". McCain has the worst voting record in the Senate when it comes to children (see Children's Defense Fund stats), is clueless on the state of affairs for people living within 300% of the poverty level, and seems to be in the Neocon gang promoting further "projects for a new American Century". Rod Parsley and John Hagee are the cheerleaders for the candidate McCain. Why? Because he hates Muslims as much if not more than they do. Muslims, communists, gooks, ragheads, spics, nigrahs.... there's always a group of people to vilify for this crowd, and Senator Obama's life history allows them to paint him with more than one brush, so they will. It's the only real strategy they know, so they are going with it. I don't expect much better from the rethugs, who must be sh***ing their britches at the thought of Obama in the White House. Not for the reasons they imply with their rascist, xenophobic jibe, but because the kind of change in politics Obama portends will force the rethugs to re-invent their whole party paradigm. Posting earmark requests ONLINE??? Where God(dess) and everyone could scrutinize them? National Healthcare negotiations on CSPAN??? WTF? THIS is the kind of stuff that really scares the rethugs, who, like soul-sucking vampires, cannot stand the light of sunshine in government. And the fact that Obama's campaign is funded by the "little people" like you and me, why that is just downright dangerous. It smacks of REVOLUTION, but without all the gunfire, bloodshed, rape and pillage where at least an arms dealer can make a buck! I do hope that the Clintons get on board with the urgent need to re-introduce McCain and his thugs to the electorate, despite his free pass from the Press.
