Religous fanatics and rigid fundamentalists of any religion are poisonous. They are all about hatred, control, power and money. They use religion to foster political agendas. The Inquisition is still with us in one form or another. They create mass hysteria, fear, scapegoats, and pander paranoia. They prey on people's ignorance and prejudices. They lure young people into acts of destruction, like sucide bombing. I remember that heart-wrenching scene in Syriana, where the two young men are hurtling in a boat to their death. Before Bush invaded Iraq, Iran was softening somewhat toward the West. Now, Bush has united radicals of all ilk, and given them fresh fodder for hatred and terrorism.
