I like this new Democratic ad on Iraq
This election ought to be about many things, of course, from policies that favor the already over-pampered wealthy, to the betrayal of New Orleans, to GOP corruption. But in the end it’s actually about one thing and only one thing — Iraq.
We’re down to the last week of the campaign and from here on out the Democrats should be all Iraq all the time.

I agree, but in a way this misses the real point. Shrub and the boys are not going to change their approach to Iraq, no matter what happens next Tuesday. Why it’s critical that Dems get control of at least the House is Iran, not Iraq. I remember reading that Shrub said that he was determined to do something “decisive” about Iran before he left office (although I can’t find the quote right now - can any of you help me out here?). Assuming Shrub means that, and I believe he does, he MUST be stopped, and only a Dem victory can accomplish that.

I think the October surprise was supposed to be an air attack on Iran. North Korea had their own surprise ready. Then, the fact that Americans refused to be sidetracked about Iraq made it even more difficult to start another war right now. However, Larry is correct in saying that the Dems must have a victory in this election. If not, the Bush leaguers will stay on track with their PNAC agenda, and zero in on Iran.
