I sent this article about the Surgeon General to my sister with the subject line “I don’t know why I am still capable of being amazed by these people, but, once again, I am.” I saw Tony Snow today during his press conference and he was asked about this. His reply was to the effect that anyone employed by the Administration knows Bush’s policies and has to abide by them (apparently, regardless of whether they’re legal or substantive or, whatever). But the SG’s bailiwick isn’t open to debate. It’s supposed science. Of course, a lot of things in this mal-Administration are “supposed to be” something or other.
And, Steve, I have a question for you, being a lawer and all. What is the penalty if someone (like Taylor or Miers, who are no longer with the Administration) decides they’re going to ignore executive privilege? Does that mean jail time or what?
From Steve: Ellen, I’m no expert on this, but I doubt there’s any penalty. Disclosing classified information is a crime; but disclosing non-classified information doesn’t become criminal just because Bush doesn’t want it released.

But, but, but, like the good lemming he is, Dr. Carmona followed orders for four years that endangered the nation and promoted the lies and disinformation of the Bush Crime Family.
It is outrageous that he is commended for speaking out after such great damage has been done. Carmona is as guilty as those who gave him his orders and should be condemned for his immoral acts and for his disgraceful role as a partner to the evil deeds of this administration.
This is just another in a long series of crimes for which every one who participated or stood by silently will never be held accountable. Carmona is another rat deserting the sinking Ship of State before history judges them all.
