Question #2: If Hilary had won the nomination, could she have chosen Bill as a running mate?
From Steve: Seriously Chuck, if this twenty questions thing keeps up I’m going to have to have Molly drive you home to sober up. For what it’s worth, the answer is no for two reasons. First, Bill isn’t eligible to be president because he’s already served two terms. Second, there is a problem with the president and the vice president being from the same state.

Shoot! I’d go home with Molly anytime, of course my wife & Molly’s husband would have a different– more negative view, & I doubt if Molly would go for it anyway.
However, if you are taking the 3 wise men home some evening, I would be willing to go along too.

Ya know Steve, I’m not sure about that Bill as Veep thing. There are provisions that could allow it. Johnson took over the presidency after JFK’s death and was still eligible to run for 2 more terms. As far as coming from the same state, all he has to do is re-become a citizen from Ark. again while she remains a citizen of NY.
Seems like a (remote) possibility to me. It also seems I have too much time on my hands to ponder abstract what-ifs.
From Steve: Okay Chuck, you drove me to do research. It seems it’s an open question: there’s a pretty good discussion here.
